Doctrine of Christ

Course Description

Our only comfort in life and death is that we belong to our faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. But who is Jesus? What does it mean that Jesus is one person and two natures, and how does He accomplish our salvation? This class seeks to answer these and more questions in a deep and rigorous way by examining the person and work of Christ from a historical, biblical, and theological perspective.

Letter from the instructor

Dear Student,

There is no better topic of study than the person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ. All of Scripture is about him. All of history finds its culmination in him. All Christians are being conformed into the image of…him!

In this course, we will carefully and reverently study the person and work of the Son of God as He is revealed in Holy Scripture and confessed by the church throughout the centuries. Our aim is not only to understand the Church’s teaching—especially as it is expressed in the Definition of Chalcedon—but to behold more clearly the glory of the incarnate Christ and to be shaped by that truth.

I would be grateful to have you join me as we study the doctrine of Christ together.

In Christ, Cody Wilbanks
