Why I Chose RBC: Trusting God’s Timing
Posted On November 18, 2025
Kayla de Vries is a freshman at RBC pursuing her B.A. in Theology and majoring in Christian Thought. We recently sat down to ask her about her experience at Reformation Bible College.
Kayla’s journey to RBC wasn’t straightforward, but it was marked by trust in the Lord’s timing.
“After attending a couple Ligonier National Conferences and knowing a few alumni who had loved attending RBC, I decided to apply in the fall of 2023.”
Kayla didn’t have peace about attending in person right away. She deferred her enrollment and revisited her plans the following year.
“After visiting RBC’s campus in May of 2024, I decided to reapply for online classes . . . but when the time came, I believed the Lord would have me wait on His timing and pursue my work rather than school.”
In the spring of 2025, she prayed about applying again.
“I made the decision to reapply for on-campus learning and apply for scholarships as well!”
Since starting at RBC, Kayla has been growing in her knowledge of God’s Word and forming meaningful friendships in an intentional Christian community.
“I’m grateful that God led me to attend RBC because I hold to the richness of the Reformed tradition that Dr. Sproul, the professors, the staff, and the students also hold to.”
“The most memorable part of RBC so far is the friendships I have been so blessed by. . . . God is using this place to truly sanctify me!”

As Kayla looks toward the rest of the year, she has an earnest desire to grow in her faith.
“I am most looking forward to strengthening my relationship with Christ, to continue looking to Him for strength and not to myself.”
She’s also looking forward to singing with the Reformation Chorale at Ligonier’s 2026 National Conference.
Above all, Kayla hopes her time at RBC lays a foundation for a life rooted in Scripture:
“I hope to gain a continual love for God and His Word. I pray that I would not complete my studies simply as a checklist, but that my heart would be to truly learn—not only at RBC, but throughout my life!”
