Posted On January 24, 2024

As Manager of Online Learning, Calvin Yoho supports the development of quality online programming. We recently sat down with him to ask about his life, faith, and work at RBC.

Why do you enjoy working at RBC?

The RBC staff and faculty are a wonderful group of people to work with, and the mission of the institution is honorable. I am grateful to be part of this organization.

What do you think makes RBC unique?

The students who study at RBC truly want to be here. They’re not here just to earn a degree, but to grow in their knowledge of God.

What advice would you give to incoming RBC students?

Be prepared to read and study and carve out time to do so daily. It may be challenging, but it will be rewarding.

When and how did you come to faith in Christ?

By God’s grace, I was born to believing parents, was baptized into Christ as an infant, and have professed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior for as long as I can remember.

What did you do before you came to RBC?

Prior to RBC, I worked for a small user experience research firm for about six years. During that time, I was given the opportunity to organize and conduct research studies with our clients’ customers to ensure that products met their customers’ needs.

Can you share a little bit about your family’s ties to RBC?

My brother studied at RBC some years ago, and my sister is currently a student and employee at RBC. She and I work just down the hall from each other, which has been enjoyable.

What’s one piece of technology you could not live without?

Air conditioning. At least, I probably couldn’t live in Florida without it.

What’s your favorite book of the Bible or favorite author?

Right now, my favorite book of the Bible is Genesis. It is amazing to see God’s hand at work in His creation, His judgment and grace toward a fallen humanity, and the working out of His promise to redeem a people for Himself.

When you’re going on a trip, what are your travel essentials?

Phone. Keys. Wallet. I like to keep it simple.

What are your favorite hobbies or pastimes?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading theology books and fantasy novels, and drinking a good cup of coffee in the morning.

Do you have any pets?

We have a black lab mix named Winnie. She’s a very sweet dog and brings much happiness to our home.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

Since I was a boy, I’ve wanted to visit Italy. I’d love to see the Tuscan countryside, visit the cities of Venice, Florence, and Rome, and see the Dolomite Mountains.
