RBC Café and Bookstore Grand Opening

Posted On March 11, 2021

This past Saturday, we held a grand opening event for the new café and bookstore. It was a joy to celebrate the Lord’s kindness in providing this new building.

Upon arrival, RBC faculty, staff, visitors, and current and incoming students were greeted by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods from the café. With their free cup of coffee in hand, guests had the opportunity to chat and browse the selection of discounted Ligonier resources from the bookstore.

Later, Dr. Stephen Nichols, our president, signed copies of his new book, R.C. Sproul: A Life. In this biography of our beloved founder, Dr. Nichols provides a close look at the man used by God to awaken generations to the majesty of His character, the truth of His Word, and the glory of His gospel.

For those interested, our staff then led tours throughout our beautiful lakefront campus. Visitors were able to take a closer look at Founders Hall, where most student life happens at RBC, and the many new spaces specially designed for student community and fellowship.

Our guests also had the special opportunity to explore the Hansen Rare Book Room to see our collection of rare books. These include a 1611 King James Bible, a 1546 Erasmus Greek New Testament, a 1602 Geneva Bible, two Torah scrolls, medieval manuscripts, and writings by John Bunyan. Additionally, our extensive collection of first edition Puritan books and the personal library and memorabilia of Dr. R.C. Sproul were on display.
