Introducing the Reformed Classical Education Minor

Posted On February 16, 2023

Are you seeking a teaching career in Christian classical education?

In addition to our B.A. in Theology, you can now earn a minor in Reformed classical education. This new minor offers courses in history, Latin, philosophy, and the teaching methods and practices of classical education. The capstone of the program is a practicum, offering you the opportunity to work alongside seasoned teachers in flagship classical schools.

“Classical education has experienced a rapid incline in this era of educational confusion,” said Dr. Stephen Nichols, our president. “Given our emphasis at RBC on theology and the Bible alongside a true liberal arts curriculum of great works, history, and philosophy, this new minor in Reformed classical education will be a valuable asset for our graduates as they pursue vocations of teaching in classical Christian schools.”

Rev. Robert Ingram serves as the program advisor for this minor. He is the former headmaster of The Geneva School in Casselberry, FL, and is a mentor and leader among the Society of Classical Learning. You will be taught by Rev. Ingram and other skilled classical school faculty and administrators, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from guest lecturers from schools around the world.

“Having Rev. Ingram as our program advisor will provide our students with an invaluable resource as they prepare for a lifetime of learning and teaching,” added Dr. John Tweeddale, our vice president of academics. “Rev. Ingram has been one of the leading architects of the Christian classical education movement over the last several decades. The experience and enthusiasm that he brings to RBC will have a lasting impact on our students.”

We look forward to welcoming our first group of students into this program next fall.
