Do Not Be Anxious
Posted On November 11, 2016
During Preview week, prospective students from across the country came to tour the campus and get a taste of student life, which of course includes chapel. This week’s speaker was Dr. David Powlison, executive director of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation in Glenside, Pa., and senior editor of the Journal of Biblical Counseling. He taught from Philippians 4:6 and provided six reflective questions to ask oneself when struggling with anxiety:
What are the cues that tell me I am anxious?
What is your trust in?
What are you fretting about?
Why are you feeling anxious?
Have you prayed about it?
What good will come from worry?
In this world, so much is out of our control that we ultimately forget who is in control. We need not fear because God is near.
