Announcing Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas as RBC’s Visiting Professor of Theology
Posted On March 17, 2017
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas will be serving as visiting professor of theology at Reformation Bible College. No stranger to Ligonier Ministries, Dr. Derek Thomas is the Senior Minister of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, SC. He is also a Ligonier Teaching Fellow and Chancellor’s Professor at Reformed Theological Seminary. He has a robust speaking ministry and has written many books, including How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home, Calvin’s Teaching on Job, and Ezra & Nehemiah in the Reformed Expository Series. He also has to his credit the Ligonier teaching series Pilgrim’s Progress and Job. We are grateful that Dr. Thomas is adding this new role.
This fall he will be teaching the course “The Doctrine of the Church” on our campus in Sanford, Florida. We look forward to many more courses from Dr. Thomas in the years to come and for his impact on the lives of our students. Dr. Stephen J. Nichols says, “We are so thankful for the ministry God has given to our friend, Dr. Thomas. I cannot think of a better man who embodies and exemplifies all that we endeavor to teach and all that we hope for our students. Here at RBC, we teach theology for life in the service of the church—that certainly marks Dr. Thomas’s preaching, writing, and work.” RBC’s founder and Chancellor, Dr. R. C. Sproul, notes, “Dr. Thomas is exactly the kind of professor I would have wanted as an undergraduate. As a good friend of Ligonier Ministries and a faithful servant of the gospel, I know our students will benefit from studying with him.”
