Announcing Our 2020 Essay Contest Winners

Posted On April 17, 2020

This year, students were challenged to answer the question “Why is Scripture sufficient for life and godliness?” in a 4,500-word essay for the opportunity to win a full scholarship for his or her first year of tuition.

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2020 Essay Contest and recipient of a full-year tuition scholarship is Ingrid from Alabama. Ingrid’s exemplary essay demonstrated clear and persuasive thinking on the topic that exhibited careful theological reflection, biblical exposition, and practical application for the Christian life.

Several other submissions deserve recognition. Hannah from Massachusetts earned a runner-up scholarship for her outstanding work. Paul from Hawaii also received a scholarship as an honorable mention.

Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. Please join us in congratulating our winners.

This year’s essay topic aligned with the theme of our Winter Conference earlier this year, The Sufficiency of Scripture. Our President, Dr. Stephen Nichols, spoke on the Bible’s sufficiency for salvation and sanctification: “People chase all sorts of things that promise light. Only one thing, God’s Word, delivers.” Watch Dr. Nichols’ session from this event and browse other videos on our YouTube channel.
