Announcing Our 2019 Essay Contest Winners
Posted On June 18, 2019
For this year’s essay contest, RBC challenged students to present a well-defined apologetic and answer the question, “Why must Christians be always ready to defend their faith?”
Many students submitted thoughtful, well-written responses. We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 contest is Chris from Pennsylvania. Chris’ exemplary essay handled the topic persuasively with an exploration of theological, philosophical, and cultural issues, and he has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship for his first year at RBC.
Several other submissions deserve special recognition: Iva from Michigan and Holly from Florida earned runner-up scholarships for their outstanding work. Jonathan from Michigan and Rachel from Alabama also received scholarships as honorable mentions.
This year’s contest theme resonates with our mission. President Dr. Stephen Nichols describes RBC as “a college committed to excellence in training knowledgeable and articulate Christians—Christians who can defend their faith in every generation.” As these contest winners attend RBC, they’ll become even more compelling communicators of biblical truth in an age when it’s often denied.
Thank you to everyone who entered the contest, and please join us in congratulating the winners. If you’re interested in studying with us this fall, you can still apply.
